A bit about me...

I am a member of the BACP, and trained in an integrative approach with London South Bank University.

I work collaboratively with my clients – we can talk about your goals and expectations of therapy and your life.

I can offer kinship, safety and support for you while you explore your thoughts and feelings. This valuable space can help you to trust in yourself and empower you.  Clients find they can work out what they need and then communicate this to others, outside of the therapy setting.

In addition to working in open ended, general practice, I am a specialist grief therapist, with proven experience of supporting clients through endings. I worked previously within a bereavement service, and undertook couples training.

Working in therapy with someone you trust can be the first step to changing your life.

"The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed."

My Approach

Emma Baker Therapy provides a safe, holding space for anyone who feels they need extra support to be their best, strongest selves.

I really believe in talking therapy.

It is a huge privilege to listen to people's stories, to join them on their journey for a while and to help them find clarity for and within themselves.

The relationship between the client and the therapist is the magic ingredient.

I work integratively which means that we can explore your experience of your life in the present, and also consider how your past influences your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

But the relationship that we work on between us, in the therapeutic space, is what can make all the difference.

There’s lots of research that shows that regardless of the specific theory behind the work – the relationship between the client and the therapist is the magic ingredient.

"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."
